Aromatherapy is a pseudoscience that uses aromas to improve psychological or physical well-being. It’s a holistic healing treatment that started thousands of years ago and has been used for an array of reasons. The body, mind, and spirit are all affected by aromatherapy, enhancing both physical and emotional health! There’s many ways to introduce aromatherapy into the home, just remember when buying essential oils, they’re “therapudic grade” – meaning they’re pure and not artificial. The plant on the label should always be the main ingredient.
1. Candles

Candles are a great way to bring aromatherapy into the home. They come in a wide range of scents and are widely available. Soy candles are the best option because they don’t use any harmful chemicals. I always recommend buying candles from small businesses on websites such as Etsy because they’re usually all natural and smell the best! Plus, supporting small businesses is always a win.
2. Diffusers

Diffusers are impactful because they use essential oils and diffuse them into the room. Putting lavender essential oil in your diffuser can be relaxing at night helping a good night sleep.
3. Room Spray

Room spray is an easy DIY solution – mix water with your favorite essential oils and spray it around the room for a fresh aromatic scent. Peppermint, tea tree, eucalyptus, and anything invigorating are all good options when looking for an energetic aroma.
4. Cleaning Products

Switching your typical cleaning products to all natural cleaners, like the Mrs. Meyers Brand, is a great way to introduce aromatherapy into the home. They usually have amazing scents which is something I never thought I’d say about a cleaning product. It can’t get much better than cleaning and making your home smell great.
5. Lavender Buds

Leaving lavender buds around the home will give it a lavender scent throughout, promoting a calm, relaxing atmosphere. Have you ever walked through a garden and immediately known there’s lavender around? Lavenders strong scent makes it perfect to leave around the house.
6. Wax Melts
Wax melts are another DIY solution when it comes to bringing aromatherapy into the home. If you don’t feel like making them, again Etsy is great choice. I’ve found that a lot of the ones you buy from the store aren’t all natural, therefore putting harmful chemicals into the air. The point of aromatherapy is to improve your mind, body, and spirit, and you can’t do that by letting all of these toxins into your body. Trust me, its worth it to melt all natural wax melts!
