Rounded Edges

Rounded edges are here to stay. Whether it’s your chairs, tables, bed frames -rounded edges will give any room a warmer, softer feel.
Organic & Sustainable
The sustainable movement has taken its influence to the interior design world and we don’t see that trend disappearing very quickly. In fact, it a decidedly long term approach to a more sustainable, greener design and is a great way to reduce our carbon footprint. 2022 is going to be all about implementing organic and sustainable elements into your home and bringing that connected-to-the-outdoors feeling inside. Using glass instead of plastic is a good way to mimic the outside world – plastic free. Read our blog to find out more ways.
Floor Patterns

Floor patterns are back and they’re giving us nostalgia. The famous herringbone floor patterns are again popping up as a hot trend. In addition to herringbone, geometric patterned floors will also be seen this year. If you have a large-scale pattern, it’s best to stick to neutrals in order to not make the room feel cluttered. The details are the design!
The Color Green

Green is an easy color to implement in any room when you think of adding greens in terms of natural elements, like plants. While that’s easily where our minds first take us, there’s many shades of green that will be seen in 2022. Emerald green gives the space a rich, deep feel while sage greens give us relaxing, outdoorsy vibes. Green is making a comeback as a trend in 2022 and we love all shades of green.
Add some green throw pillows, a statement green bookcase, or a gorgeous green couch!

White Walls

Simple white walls serve as a beautifully blank canvas, enabling you to fill the room with whatever you want. White is classic. Adding statement pieces will pop even more with a bright background. Pairing white walls with tapered lines and soft textures is a great way to achieve mid-century modern designs. Read our post highlighting the best white paint colors for your wall to read more!
Light Floors

Light floors spread natural light across the room and can really brighten up any space. Natural, light wood is a big trend for 2022 and plays on the organic feel of the year. Soft textures and artwork are two great pairings with natural, light floors and neutrals will give you a more minimalist feel. Light floors can be paired with almost any design and color!
Contrast

Adding contrast to a room can be essential when trying to achieve balance. Having white walls with black doors is a contrast that will make the other elements in the room pop. Think floors, trims, light fixtures, hardware, ceilings, and walls!
Zen & Calming Interiors

Sustainable living in interiors can be highlighted using “zen” and “calming” elements. It also elevates the environmentally-friendly design that’s a heavy 2022 trend, making zen interiors a great option when trying to achieve an eco-friendly home. The aesthetic this design brings will make you feel more relaxed and less distracted – you really can’t go wrong with this one!
Greenery

Different from “the color green,” greenery means adding nature-based designs into your home. Authentic plants, meaning live plants, have so many benefits. Plants will also warm up and space and give it a more homey feeling. Besides that – plants are so fun to watch grow! Some of my favorite are sweetheart plants, fiddle leaf figs, mosteras, palms, and snake plants. Make sure you pick plants that are best for you – to read more on the best indoor plants check out our blog post! Don’t have much of a green thumb? Try indoor smart gardens – the organic way to grow your own produce all year long without having to worry about a thing! My personal favorite smart garden is Click & Grow, they offer a variety of gardens and come in convenient little pods for easy growing.
Wallpaper

Wallpaper is the perfect way to spice up any room and add your personality to any space. With so many different designs, it’s easy to find wallpaper to fit any style. I recommend looking on Etsy for wallpaper – not only will you be supporting a small business but there’s so many cute designs you really can’t find anywhere else!
Rattan

Rattan has been trending in interior design for awhile, earning it’s rightful spot in the top interior design trends of 2022. Rattan is a natural element that again brings the outdoors inside. Rattan baskets, chairs, tables, accents, and more are all great ways to implement rattan in your home. Check out some of my favorite rattan pieces!
Patterns

I’m a sucker for pairing patterns- it just brings so much life into a room! Don’t be afraid to play around and find the perfect comination of patterns, it adds warmth and personality to your space. Think of patterns in the form of blankets, pillows, signs, rugs, and curtains.
Warm Neutrals

Neutrals will play a big part in interior design trends of 2022. Creating a core design out of neutrals allows you to play with your home for seasons and holidays to come. This will give the home a feeling of warming welcomeness and will always be seemingly fresh.
Minimalist

Minimalist is here to stay. No one likes a cluttered home – in fact, one thing most of my clients have in common is that they don’t want the house to feel “overcrowded” and love the “light and airy” feel. When I was learning about interior design I was taught that you have to put something in every livable square foot area – from the beginning I thought that it was just a bad idea. Minimalism captures the art of living with the minimal amount necessary but that doesn’t mean you have to toss everything in sight. Hide items in storage with clear cut lines and have minimal but eye-catching decor.
Home Offices

If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that we all need a space to lay out our business. Home offices are a trend that’s here to stay in 2022 and we don’t see it disappearing for awhile. From the convince to the necessity of them, home offices are a must.
Gold-Toned Metals

Every year, the metallic tones change. Gold-toned metals give the home a warm and rich feeling while still reminding you of the natural world. Gold-toned metals are in, brass-toned metals are out! (Of course, like with any trend, go with the metal that makes you happy.. gold-toned will be a thing of the past soon enough!)
70’s Style
A sense of nostalgia is coming back in the form of 70’s style! Retro furniture reflecting this era is something you’ll be seeing a lot in 2022 homes.
Velvet

Velvet is a texture that is pleasant to the touch and offers and attractive, luxurious feel.
Combine velvet with other 2022 interior design trends liked metal, rounded furniture, and natural colors. Velvet has a place in almost any design style coming in both light and airy hues or dark, rich tones.
Kitchens – Maximum Concealment

We saw this play out in 2021 and it’s made such an impact, we don’t see this trend going anywhere. Maximum concealment means that you’re hiding your appliances out of sight but still in a convenient spot. For those of you doing a complete kitchen remodel, make sure to incorporate these hidden spaces.
Marble

Marble is an interior design trend almost every year and 2022 is no different. Marble contributes to the natural feel of the home, being a natural stone. Marble pairs perfectly with almost any design element and color – it’s an investment but you’re guaranteed to love this timeless stone for years to come.
Concrete Imitation
Implementing concrete imitation on your bathroom or kitchen floors is definitely something you’ll see over and over again in 2022. It brings in the warm, earthy feel and makes surrounding decor pop when paired with lighter and brighter tones.
