2021 is said to be the year of change and in the interior world, it’s no different. If you’re looking for the hottest kitchen design trends of 2021, you’ve come to the right place. I’ve talked to designers, read articles, and have complied all of my finds to share with you!
Walk-in Pantry Closet

We’ve all seen pictures of the gorgeous pantry closets in these new kitchens – and I’m sure you want one just as bad as I do. It’s both convenient and hidden and doesn’t ruin the aesthetic of the kitchen. Everything has a place in the walk-in pantry closet!
Multi-Purpose

In 2020, we learned that we may need to use areas of our house for multiple purposes. Maybe your dining room has turned into an office, or your living room is now a school. Multi-purpose kitchens are gaining popularity for this reason. We may be seeing more and more designated office spaces in the kitchen!
Compact Design

Nobody has ever complained about having too much storage! Small kitchens, rejoice! Compact designs are trendy in 2020, which is both useful and stylish. Win-win! Expect every area of the kitchen to be utilized.
Two-Toned Kitchens

Have you ever seen an island that was a different color than the cabinets? It’s a two-toned kitchen! You’ll see more and more kitchens pop up that have this feature, the colors are often coordinated gorgeously!
Statement Taps

Faucets are becoming cheaper and more accessible which is why you’ll find a lot of home owners opting for a fancy faucet. Statement taps will become more popular in 2021 and we’re hoping ours breaks so we have an excuse to replace it.
Concealed Appliances

We’ve seen this gain traction in 2020 and in 2021, it’s here to stay. Concealed appliances give the kitchen a sleek look, rather a cluttered feel. Hide your microwaves and coffee pots and get ready for minimal kitchen counter clutter!
Living Room in the Kitchen

With everybody staying at home and working from home more often, living room furniture has found its way into the kitchen. You’ll find small sofas, coffee tables, accent chairs and more as a way to add more seating to these areas and fit more people.
Brass

Brass finishes are taking the place of gold this year! It’s time to update all of the knobs and faucets and chandeliers to brass if you want a trendy kitchen in 2021.
Dining Islands

I’ve seen this one become more and more popular in 2020! A dining island is a table that sticks out and rests a little lower than the kitchen island, complete with chairs making it a “dining island.” They’re convenient if you don’t have enough space for a formal dining table!
Grid Tiling

Subway tiles are always going to be timeless, but if you’re looking for something a little more trendy for your kitchen or bathroom, check out grid tiling. They’re squares instead of rectangles like the classic subway tile and give the space a more modern feel while still keeping it bright.
Black is Back

Black countertops are the new white marble. Just kidding, marble will never be out of style.. but black countertops definitely are! It adds dramatic elegance to any kitchen and more and more people are discovering their love of black countertops.
Natural Elements

We look to our homes as a place of comfort and the kitchen is no different. Adding natural elements like stones or woods to your kitchen will give you a warm, calming sensation.
Statement Stone

Waterfall countertops have gained popularity but we’re going to start to see more and more of them. Dramatic slabs of stone will be used on backsplashes as well which creates a luxurious and sleek kitchen.
Green Cabinets

Green cabinets are trendy in 2021, specifically the dark green hues. 2021 is moving into the dark side and we’re here for it.
